The archival fonds of the Presidency of the Portuguese Republic contain documents produced and received in the course of its activity since 1911, when Teófilo Braga – head of the interim government – started using Palácio de Belém to sign documents and receive personalities.
The Historical Archive keeps, manages, describes, preserves and provides information on the document collections of the Presidency of the Portuguese Republic to researchers and general public.
